‘The Titfield Thunderbolt’ arrived at Exmouth’s Blackmore Theatre earlier this week, and continues to make its presence felt, right through until the end of the final performance on Saturday evening (July 8).

Some places may still be available in one of the carriages for you to get your tickets.

So come on board and join the cast of this wonderful comedy play by Philip Goulding – based on the original Ealing comedy screenplay by TEB Clarke – and help the villagers of Titfield to prove to the railway authorities they can run the branch line themselves and succeed in fighting off the opposition of the local bus company. It is all good light-hearted fun, and you may need to get involved yourselves. Such is the magic of theatre!

Performances are tonight (Thursday, July 6) and both Friday and Saturday evening, all commencing at 7.30pm. There is also a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Those children among you who are fortunate enough to attend the matinee may be permitted to have their photos taken with some of the cast and also alongside the steam engine itself. Parents, grandparents and other relations – don’t forget your cameras!

The Exmouth Players are grateful to the Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat Company and their staff for permitting the cast to have their photographs taken at Churston railway station, both alongside the steam engine and also on one of their carriages. We all had a wonderful afternoon out and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Look out for some of the photos here or on our website,, or on our Blackmore Theatre Facebook page and Twitter. Book your seats now and come aboard if you have not already done so. This is a great comedy for all the family.

This amateur production of The Titfield Thunderbolt is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Ltd.

For tickets, please call box office on 07484 509514.

The theatre box office is open daily, between 9.30am and 1pm until Saturday and up to 45 minutes before each performance. Please check our Facebook page for availability.
