A ‘gentle’ poetry walk is taking place around Exmouth on Thursday, August 31.

Running from 2pm to 3pm, it will start outside The Point bar and grill on the marina and will finish at the Exmouth Museum. It costs £3.

The event is being organised by Sarah Acton – a Jurassic Coast Trust Ambassador and also the trust’s poet-in-residence.

Part of Sarah’s roving East Devon residency, the walk is designed to ‘connect your creativity with nature and the landscape’.

You should bring sturdy shoes, plus pen and paper. To book, email Sarah at blackvenpress@gmail.com

Sarah has just begun her Exmouth residency. She’s interested in the changing features of the estuary, and how these have shaped the lives of the people in the surrounding areas. She will also be taking inspiration from Exmouth Museum’s collection.

The residency will inspire her to write new poems about the western end of the World Heritage Site.
