An outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s comedy Twelfth Night will be staged at Exmouth’s Manor Gardens next Sunday, July 30.

Performed by the Rain Or Shine Theatre Company, it’s the tale of Viola and Sebastian, the sister and brother shipwrecked on the coast of Illyria.

Lost and alone, Viola disguises herself as a man and sets forth. Before long, chaos ensues as mistaken identity, love and pride set a host of characters on a series of hilarious adventures.

“Hopeless romantics, drunken knights, a pompous steward and fools galore abound in one of Shakespeare’s most celebrated comedies,” says a theatre spokesperson. “If music be the food of love, play on!”

Twelfth Night is in the Manor Gardens at 7pm on Sunday, July 30. Standard tickets £11, child £6.85 (including fees). Call 03306 600541, or visit www.rainorshine.co.uk or www.ticketweb.co.uk/event/275331. Bring seating or rugs and a picnic to maximise your enjoyment of the performance.
