A one-off art exhibition, featuring the work of 28 professional artists and craftspeople from across the South West, is now on at Kennaway House, Sidmouth.
The Creative Coverage Open Exhibition is open daily from 9am to 5pm until Friday, May 6, and features a number of prominent British artists and craftspeople, including Penny Timmis, Lynda Kettle and Andrew Matheson, who are all elected members of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA).
More than 100 works of fine art and craft will be displayed, including Jenny Shaw-Browne’s Polruan Boatyard (pictured) and Nicola Axe’s sculpture, Tulip Shell (pictured, inset).
Carol Burns, art and interiors editor of Devon Life, will officially open the event at 11am tomorrow, Saturday, April 30, where there will also be an opportunity to meet some of the exhibitors.
Penny Timmis is well-known for her animal paintings, while former RBSA vice president Lynda Kettle produces landscapes and Andrew Matheson makes a variety of porcelain and stoneware.
Paintings by Colin Merrin, an elected member of the Royal Watercolour Society, will be accompanied by still lives from award-winning Devon artist Robert Mountjoy, an elected member of South West Academy, together with sculptures by Nicola Axe from Newton Abbot.
All works will be for sale and Creative Coverage will make a donation to Simon Says, its nominated charity.
