OSCAR Wilde's murderously funny comedy Lord Arthur Savile's Crime is being performed by the Salterton Drama Club at the Salterton Playhouse from Monday, March 1, to Saturday, March 6, at 7.30pm.

The Salterton Drama Club production, directed by Fay Himilton, is certain to be fantastic fun with Sam Pike as Lord Arthur, who is destined to commit murder according to palmist Podgers (David Holt). Aided by Butler Baines (David Wilkes) and anarchist Herr Winkelkopf (Richard Gomm), he tries to commit murder before marrying his lovely fiancée Sybil Merton (Charlotte Gould-Smith). Pat Cowey plays Sybil's formidable mother Lady Julia, Jenny Roberts is Lady Windermere, Pam Terry Lady Clementina Beauchamp and Alan Ford the Dean of Paddington.

Baines is also involved in his romance with maid Nellie (Dianne Nicholls), which brings ever more fun to the proceedings.

Tickets are going fast for this popular production, especially for the Wednesday and Friday performances. Tickets, £7, are available from the Budleigh Salterton Tourist Information Centre, Fore Street, tel (01395) 445275.
