Organised by East Devon District Council (EDDC), the first is a mud walk at Exmouth on Wednesday, August 23, from 1pm to 3pm.

You can dig for worms, fish for shrimps and discover what is living in the mud of the Exe estuary.

Booking required, £3 per person, concessions available for EDDC tenants. Meet opposite the toilets at Exmouth’s Imperial Road Rec’. Then there’s a rockpool ramble at Ladram Bay on Thursday, August 24, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. You can explore the mysterious world of the bay’s rockpools with the Countryside rangers. No booking required, suggested donation £3 per child. Meet at Ladram Bay beach (right-hand side of the bay when facing the sea), Otterton, EX9 7BX, car park charges apply.
