Exmouth Light Orchestra is returning to St John the Evangelist Church on Withycombe Village Road on Saturday, July 15, at 7.30pm.

The 70-plus musicians have been rehearsing hard in preparation for an exciting and demanding programme, including a ‘Tribute To John Williams’, with themes from Star Wars, Jaws, Superman, Harry Potter and more.

“This is not a school orchestra arrangement, so hold on to your seats and enjoy the ride!” says an ELO spokesperson. “For those who like something gentler, how about Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King And I in an historic arrangement by the original film and show orchestrator, Robert Russell Bennett?

“Then there’s everything from the beautiful Pavane by Fauré to the brutal Gladiator via music from the show Chicago and Take Five from the Dave Brubeck Quartet. And much more besides!”

Tickets are £5 from Best Books on Exmouth’s Parade, Exmouth or phone 01395 278497 for more information.
