Exmouth Choral Society to perform Haydn’s Creation
PUBLISHED: 18:30 12 January 2018
Exmouth Choral Society is performing Hadyn’s Creation at Exmouth’s Holy Trinity Church at 7.30pm on Saturday, February 17.
“This music – with its lively arias and rousing choruses – speaks eloquently to believers and non-believers alike,” says a society spokesperson.
“Depicting the creation of the world – from Adam and Eve to earthworms – it pictures a benign and generally optimistic view of the universe, and offers cheerfulness and reconciliation. Haydn’s belief in the goodness of God, and the praise and thanks which, he believed, this goodness inspired in people, is at the very heart of this music. We do hope you can join us on what promises to be a joyous and uplifting evening.”
Tickets for the concert are £10 in advance (from the parish office in Holy Trinity; from Cabin News, The Parade, Exmouth or from The Card ShopToo, Budleigh), or £12 on the door. Free admission for under-18s.
