THE Exmouth art group exhibition has got under way.

The group's 63rd annual summer event started last Wednesday, July 29, and was opened by BBC radio presenter Judi Spiers at a private view evening.

Rolle College in Exmouth is the venue for the exhibition which runs until Saturday, August 15.

A spokesperson for the group, founded in 1946, said this was the first time it had been able to put on a show at the location.

"With its glass domed roof and circular balcony, the building provides a magnificent exhibition space offering superb lighting to show off the paintings and sculptures to wonderful effect.

"The evening was a lively occasion honoured by the presence of Exmouth's mayor, Darryl Nicholas, and deputy mayor, Sandra Sutton.

"Around 150 guests enjoyed wine and delicious food prepared by the ladies of the committee."

The exhibition is open from 10am until 6pm on weekdays and 10am until 4.30pm at weekends. More than 400 exhibits are on display.
