Exeter Summer Festival returns from Friday, June 12 - Sunday, June 28, boasting over 60 hours of free entertainment alongside interactive activities to boost community spirit.
Supported by generous funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, the Festival kicks off with a grand Opening Parade at noon on June 12 combining with the traditional Lammas Fair. Regional and local artists will help schools and local communities create circus themed sculptures, banners, masks and music, which will form a visual spectacle in the city centre streets. The circus theme continues in the evening at the Party on the Quay - fun for all the family with have-a-go circus workshops, crafts, street theatre, music stage and digital funfair, all for free.
THE Tales of Peter Rabbit will be at the Exeter Corn Exchange on Sunday, June 28 at 3.30pm. With brand new songs, beautifully designed scenery and costumes, this show is destined to bring the famous books to life in a new and exciting way.
Join Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny on their adventure through the forest to Mr McGregor's garden to fetch a nice juicy lettuce, the one place Peter was told not to go!
They'll be meeting some friendly and familiar faces on the way, including Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Tom Kitten and maybe someone not quite so friendly... Mr McGregor himself, a giant of a man who has designs on a nice rabbit pie!
