Archant

There’s less than a month to go until Exmouth Musical Theatre Company (EMCo) brings its production of ‘Acorn Antiques’ - Victoria Wood’s hit musical soap-opera parody - to the Exmouth Pavilion.

This all-singing, all-dancing, spectacular is risqué, ridiculous and full of missed cues, fumbled entrances and Marigold gloves.

Swipes are also taken at current TV soaps with their low production values, wobbly sets, overacting, appalling dialogue and improbable plots.

Anne Killoran takes on the hilarious role of Mrs Overall, the tea lady, who believes all problems could be solved with a nice cup of tea, a macaroon and an anecdote. She says she is thrilled to return to the stage after the success of EMCo’s award-winning Evita and making her directorial debut with EMCo with last year’s Pirates of Penzance.

Acorn Antiques will be performed from June 6-10 at the Exmouth Pavilion Theatre, and tickets are already available from the box office on 01395 222477 or online at www.ledtickets.co.uk.
