Dennis and Desperate Dan are in town

IMAGES from some of Britain's favourite post war comics - The Beano, The Dandy and Victor - are on display at the Brook Street Gallery in Budleigh Salterton through an exhibition of work by artist JP Reynolds, who is currently exhibiting in Harrods of London.

He has secured the licence to reproduce the famous images such as Dennis, Desperate Dan and the Bash Street Kids.

He says: "Of course Dennis is a national icon, so what he says in the speech bubbles takes on a kind of symbolic power."

From Bash Street to Budleigh is open from February 10 to 24, 10.30am-5pm (closed Sunday mornings).
