SCORES of classic cars will arrive in Exmouth on Sunday August 23 when the annual park up and picnic event takes place at the Imperial Recreation Ground.

The event, now in its fifth year, has been organised by the Devon branch of the Morris Minor Owners Club.

Visitors attending the rally will be able to view a host of vintage cars dating back more than 50 years.

Vehicle owners with cars to show do not have to pay to display, or book. They can just show up on the day.

Organisers said there is no age-related cut-off date, which means owners of more recent standard and modified cars and motorcycles are invited along.

Last year's event attracted local car clubs, including the Axe Valley Mini Club, Crash Box and Classic Car Club and the MG 'M' Group South West.

Event spokeswoman Lorna Moggridge, from the Devon branch of the Morris Minor Owners Club, said: "Previous visitors have commented on how much they like the informal atmosphere of this vehicle gathering where you can turn up when you want and also take in the additional sights of Exmouth."

The annual Park Up n Picnic runs from 10am until 4pm and is open to all classic and modern cars and motorcycles.

Car clubs are also welcome to go along and put on a display.

There will be collection buckets in aid of the nominated charity, Force.
