On Saturday, December 6, Tower Street Methodist Church will echo to the glorious sounds of Handel's Messiah. The performance will take place at 7.30pm that evening but there will be a rehearsal during the afternoon beginning at 2.30pm. Marion Room, Choir 97's musical director, will be in charge of the day and many members of Choir 97 will be among the singers but they are hoping that many others will join them in this performance. Marion's involvement with Messiah goes back many years; indeed in 1968 she conducted a choir of 250 singing Messiah in Central Hall Westminster, and two years ago conducted a highly successful performance in Tower Street church. All voices, including female tenors, are welcome and the money raised from this event will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. They would love you to join them on this occasion, either as a singer or as a member of the audience. For more details please contact Val on (01395) 272840 and prepare to start your run-down to Christmas in style.
