There's a Christmas market this Saturday (November 18) from noon to 2pm, at Exmouth Baptist Church, which has access from Victoria Road or Elm Grove.

There will be various stalls, and light lunches will be available.

The event is in aid of Chicks – the children’s charity.

“Everyone is invited to come along to find some bargains and to help raise as much as possible for this worthwhile charity,” says Roger Butler, from the Baptist Church.

“Chicks [country homes for inner city kids] provides free respite holiday breaks to disadvantaged children from across the UK.

“Many of the children Chicks helps live in poverty, are victims of abuse or have been bereaved. Others live in care or are themselves young carers. They come for a week to one of three retreat centres. The children enjoy fun and friendship in a family atmosphere of care and trust, with the aim of boosting confidence and self-esteem.”
