There are more events coming up at Exmouth’s Bicton Inn.
On Saturday, January 20 at 5pm, there’s a set from Exmouth singer/songwriter Luke Blaber, with a mix of rock and folk covers.
On Sunday (January 21), folk duo Reefs of Moonshine appear at 5pm, performing folk, country and soul music.
There’s a Burns Night Celebration on Thursday, January 25 from 8.30pm.
The evening – celebrating the life and works of the great Scottish bard – will be hosted by Exmouth Shantyman Derek Brooks. It will kick-off with a march of bagpipers and drummer in traditional Scottish dress, playing rousing Highland airs. The haggis will be addressed, and you’ll get the chance to sample a small portion.
Various musicians - including The Balcony Band - will lead a selection of traditional Scottish tunes and there will be some short recitals of Burns’ work, including, say the organisers, ‘some of his more amusing creations’.
