EXMOUTH Art Group is presenting its 62nd Annual Exhibition at the Telfer Hall in Exmouth Community College, Gypsy Lane, Exmouth, starting on Thursday, July 24.

Over 100 artists, professional and amateur alike, will submit work for selection and this year more than 350 entries will be chosen for exhibition during the two-week event.

The change in venue last year from the Elizabeth Hall gave more space so more paintings could be displayed in an improved layout. This year members will be able to submit up to five pieces and for the first time 3D work will be eligible for display.

Jean Esther Brock, one of the group's most respected artists, will be donating an oil painting entitled Towards Lympstone for this year's prize raffle, with all the proceeds to be donated to Exmouth Hospital, her chosen charity.

The prize raffle raised £650 in 2007, which was donated to Inspire, the charity helping people with spinal cord injuries. It is hoped this sum will be matched, or exceeded, at this year's exhibition.

The exhibition runs until August 9, open 10am - 6pm on weekdays and at weekends 10am - 4.30pm.

Entrance is by catalogue at the door - 50p. Free car parking and wheelchair access are available.

Full details and directions are on the art group website at exmouthartgroup.org.uk
