A variety of music from talented artists, along with an Irish Session and an open-mic night

There is plenty of live music to enjoy at The Bicton Inn towards the end of November.

On Friday, November 23 at 8pm, the singer-songwriter Laurie Ward will perform a selection of reggae, folk, raunchy rock, gentle ballads, and his own material. Laurie’s music has featured on Radio 1 and other stations; he is from Budleigh Salterton.

Nine Pound Catfish will play their fun and whimsy mixture of hokum, ragtime blues and old country music mainly from the 20s and 30s on Saturday at 5pm. They are Graham Butterfield and Ian Gardner on guitars, mandolin, banjo and vocals, with Jane Gardner singing and playing washboard. On Sunday at 5pm, Tim Royce and Steve Songi will entertain with guitar and smoky vocals, putting their personal stamp on a huge range of music from the 20s to the 70s, including rock, pop, country, jazz, jive and blues.

Another of the popular Irish Sessions takes place on Sunday from 8.30pm, and there is an open mic night on Thursday, November 29.
