THE GRADUATES were formed in April 2004 as a five-piece band playing pop music from the sixties and the seventies.

Early in 2005, when new recruits Andy (lead guitar/ vocals) and John (drummer/ backing vocals) joined the band, replacing earlier members, the whole style and musical content changed.

Founder member and bass player/backing vocalist Gerry found that, with the new members on board, it was time to re-think the original 'Graduates' concept.

The band slimmed down to a three piece and began to ROCK!!! As a consequence, The Graduates have become one of the hardest working bands in the South West of England, covering material from the fields of classic rock, pop, soul, rhythm and blues and rock 'n' roll and even performing one country number in their own Graduate style.

After two years to the day, and 150 gigs on, John has given up the drummer's throne and, after trying out a few different drummers, in 2008 they welcome Tony Thistlethwaite as the new member.

The influences and experiences of the three are wide and expansive and because of this, The Graduates understand their audiences well and put on a musical and visual show that is something to remember!

The band have played many pubs, clubs, parties, hotels and functions, and will continue to play anywhere the audience wants to rock and have a good time!

Catch them live and loud at the Famous Old Barrel on London Road on Saturday, January 19, FREE!
