With an attendance of over 130 people and involving 52 awards, the Woodbury Park trophy presentation evening marking the end of the season proved a great success, writes Carole Pye.

During the evening a cheque for £10,100 raised by the members over the season was presented to the charity, Adults and Young Children with Cancer, which is based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The funds will enable the hospital to build a dedicated room for the treatment of young patients whereas at the present time they share adult facilities.

The evening concluded with a disco for those members who still had the energy to dance!

The Woodbury seniors played a team stableford, the format being Easy, Tough and Tougher with one to count on the first six, two on the second and all three on the third.

The winners were of Peter Warner, Andrzej Sobczak and David Morris ahead of Norman Baker, Ray Dwan and Terry Tilbury runners-up.
