There’s not been too much in the past week in terms of headline grabbing news at Woodbury Park, but people are playing golf in good numbers, writes John Bridgman.
The weekend saw a four-ball better ball competition being won by Aston Mills and Kevin Smith with a fine score of 49 points.
Second home were Stuart Winks and Ryan Jenner on 47. Third place went to Robin Dummelow and Adrian Greenslade on 46 points.
In the midweek stableford, Paul Voeden beat Ceri (Taff) Lewis on countback, both scoring 42 points leaving the latter settling for the runners-up berth. Ian Kirk came third with 40.
Mean while the ‘older chaps’ played a team stableford and that was won by the trio of Glen Dawson, Alistair Robertson and Simon Davies with 83 points. John Man, Austin Barrett and Norman Baker with 78 points. Third team home were Peter Warner, Terry Tilbury and Derek Knight scoring 77.
Its certainly a case of us all looking forward to an extremely busy year at Woodbury when I’m sure that there will be much success for me to give, you the reader, an insight to fame and fortune (vouchers only), as it unravels week by week. Happy whacking, cheers John.
