Woodbury Park Hawkins Trophy success for Harry Flowers

The postponed second round of the Hawkins Trophy, a two day Woodbury Park competition, was played last weekend, writes Carole Pye.
The first round, a Stableford, was played in June but the second round, a medal, was rearranged due to bad weather.
The overall winner of the trophy for the men’s division was Harry Flowers, one of Woodbury’s most talented juniors. The ladies’ trophy was won by Norma Foster, the Ladies Captain.
The Claret Jug, one of the Seniors’ major competitions, had 48 players vying to win the trophy.
It was eventually landed by Clive Hurley with 41 points, finishing a point ahead of runner-up Mike Dillon.
The Seniors travelled to Dartmouth for a return match. Having been narrow winners at Woodbury earlier in the season, they came away with a three-all draw.
