Withycombe Rugby Club is delighted to announce Molly Tregedeon has been named as the Ladies’ Head Coach for the 2021/22 season.
Already a vital player, Molly was Co-Captain alongside Carol Glover for the 2019/20 season and cancelled 2020/21 season.
Molly will take over from Doug Wibberley who has held the role for the past three years. Doug was a highly respected coach and has seen the ladies go from strength to strength to become the successful team we have now going into the new season.
Doug said: “It has been an incredible honour to coach you all over the past three years, with a lot of laughter and some fantastic rugby.”
He then went on to praise Molly, saying: “This lady has played rugby for a number of years, has a fantastic knowledge of the game and has been a key player at Withycombe for a number of years.” We want to extend a massive thank you to Doug for all he has done in those three years for the ladies on behalf of the whole club and look forward to his continuing support of the ladies.
Molly will be looking to use her experience, as well as calling on the expertise of her coaching team of George Toomey and Scott Todd to continue to build the Ladies side and prepare them for the upcoming season, which will be hopefully getting underway in September.
Molly said: “It’s very exciting to be coaching the ladies team. I’ve previously coached junior girls’ rugby and missed being involved in the coaching side.
“I am very grateful that I have a good support network at Withycombe to help me out during my first season. I have lots to learn about coaching ladies’ rugby but I’m looking forward to getting the team back together and having a great season as well as developing myself as a coach.”
Those interested in joining the club can contact Molly by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can message the Club directly through social media.
We would like to wish Molly the very best of luck in her new role.
