Withycombe Colts went down 31-15 when they entertained Crediton.

The Mid Devon side were a ‘big’ outfit, but Withy did a terrific job of containing them during the first quarter.

Eventually the pressure told and the Crediton centre sped through a gap to open the scoring with a converted try.

Withy hit back and, after some penetrating runs from Jake Lewis, Vinnie Neath Rogers and Josh Arbury, Crediton were forced into conceding a penalty at the breakdown and Jason Farrant slotted the kick to make it 7-3. However, just before the break Crediton broke from the scrum to score a second converted try and, at half-time, they led 14-3. An early second half Crediton try was swiftly answered by one for Withy, scored by harry Neath Rogers and converted by Farrant.

The Mid Devon side scored again, but, even at 31-10 down, Withy were not finished and it was no more than they deserved when, after some great work the ball was moved forward as Farrant and Arbury went on the charge. A kick over the defensive line was chased by Aaron Lee who managed to collect the ball and touch down for the best try of the game to complete the scoring.
