ANN Vincent has had a winning month at East Devon Golf Club. She won the monthly medal with a net 71, cutting her handicap by two shots, from 16 to 14, and this was swiftly followed by a winning score of 38 stableford points in the County Stableford competition for an easy lead in the Silver division and resulting in another handicap cut to 12.

She coped well despite these cuts when going out as first player in the County knockout President's Trophy team.

East Devon were in action at Libbaton in north Devon and, again, Ann won her match for the club.

Sue Lawley won the Bronze division medal with a net 78 and Jane Trapnell won the Bronze stableford with 33 points.

There were some strong teams out competing for the Express & Echo Shield.

This foursomes competition was won by Nina Hawkins and Shirley Pressey, taking the top place in a double countback from Judy Murray and Shirley Horsburgh in second place and Anne Southcott and Lorraine Caldwell in third, all having scored 35 points.

The Christine Bagnall Salvers Four Ball Better Ball was won by Elspeth Hunt and Diana Brittain who completed their round with a score of 37 points.

Another highlight for East Devon was the Helen Coton win at Staddon Heights near Plymouth, in the Devon County Venerable Veterans Championship.
