Brixington Blues U7's played in the Ottery St Mary tournament and fielded two teams, ‘Blues’ and ‘Utd’.
Blues started slowly, losing two of their opening three games, however goals from Theo Mapp ensured the team they had enough points to progress to the next round. In contrast, Utd started brightly winning all three of their opening games. A hat-trick from Charlie Spurrier and goals from Sonny West ensured easy passage.
Blues then sparked to life, goals from Dax Tarney, Casper Filutkowski, Alfie Butler and more goals from Theo Mapp saw the Blues team meet Ottery St Mary in the final. Brilliant defending from Issac Pond and Goalkeeper Alex Roach kept Ottery at bay, whilst the front four played some great passing football in a 3-0 win.
Unfortunately for Utd, a long season seemed to take its toll. Joe Northway made some outstanding saves in goal and a first goal of the season for Austin Poole wasn't quite enough.
