Trish Chattey and Angela Bungard win the Ladies' Winter Knockout at Woodbury

After a hard fought match, which, at the closing stages, could have gone either way, Trish Chattey and Angela Bungard won the Ladies' Winter Knockout (2and1) against Angela Mullerworth and Sara Beaven, writes Carole Pye.
The mid-week competition has restarted, albeit with a much smaller field. The winner, Simon Courtney, came in with a very impressive 42 points ahead of Dave Freeman on 37. Playing the last of the required six cards for the Seniors’ Winter Eclectic, Tony Marshall won the first division with 37 points, leaving Roy Barber runner-up on 36. Martin Creed (38) took the second division with Ian Marvin scoring 31 to come second.
The Winter Eclectic final results had a tie on points at the top of both divisions. With a better back six, Peter Warner (55) took the first division ahead of Tony Marshall. Having a better back 9 gave Norman Baker the second division nudging out Mike Dickens.
The Spring sunshine resulted in an impressive turnout for the weekend competition. Playing an Individual Stableford, a non qualifier, John Collier-Marsh won the first division with 39 points, just edging out David Cockayne Jnr (38). Two players in the second division, Robert Dart and Scott Howarth scored 41 points, the former was declared the winner after count-back. Steve Robb, with an excellent score of 43 points, took the third division edging out Alex Freer by one point.
The ladies’ had only one division which was won by Carol Thomas scoring 32 points ahead of Kay Foster’s (31).
