A small band of Harriers travelled to Totnes to participate in one of South Devon’s most popular running events.
The One Mile Fun Run was a prelude to the 10km race and 11 year-old Niah Bown was the only Exmouth Harrier amongst the 129 finishers. She ran extremely well to finish in 16th place overall in a superb time of 6 minutes 18 seconds.
The 10km race was nearly all off-road, following alongside the beautiful River Dart. There were a number undulations and it was tricky in some places with steps and boardwalks to negotiate.
Six Harriers started and once again managed to win a number of the age category prizes.
First in for the Harriers was Simon Minting in 4th place overall in 39.19, he also won the M35 prize. Dave Tomlin wasn’t far behind in 6th position in 39.30 and he collected the M45 prize.
Des White was 38th and 1st M65 in 45.35, Hannah Bown was 56th in 47.16 & 3rd W40, Jenny Reay was 84th in 49.46 & 1st W60 and Alison White was 274th in 61.40 & 1st W65.
