Since last years event the Velo Vintage experience has been taken to Exeter and Barnstaple, but organisers have always felt that Exmouth is the events spiritual home.
It is also where the first Occasion and Ride event took place.
It is thought that this years Velo Vintage, which takes place on Saturday, June 13, is going to be rather different for, as well as including many of the excellent cycle paths, they will also be spending some time relaxing over a picnic and watching some cricket, all very British!
The event organiser, Alistair Cope from Seaton, says: “It has been wonderful how Velo Vintage has grown over the years and how much effort people put in to decorating their bicycles and dressing up for the day.”
He continued: “We never cycle that far, maybe between eight and 15 miles at most. This time this time it will be less than 10 miles as we want to linger at our picnic spot. Our motto is something we try to keep too; Time to cycle, take tea, converse and dress with style.
“We’ll hopefully publish a few more details just before the event, as it is well worth going along to just meet the riders before they set off, or see them riding through town, that is if you don’t want to join them. 200 plus riders dressed up and with bicycles from modern to old, from tandems to Penny Farthings is quite as spectacle.”
