Exe II 2, Clifton II 1

Exe continued their winning ways with a hard fought victory against the high flying hosts.

Kate Granger opened the scoring early after her well struck shot from a penalty corner was deflected past the ‘keeper.

An unfortunate own goal levelled the score shortly before half time.

The winner came ten minutes into the second half with a move that started in defence and ended with Player of the Match Anne Freeman laying the ball up for Nicole Thackray to finish from close range.

Clifton pressed hard, but found no further way through the solid Exe defence.
