Tea wins the Whitehead Cup

Mo Reynolds was the winner of the August stableford competition at East Devon Golf Club last week, with Teresa Tea taking the honours in the Venerable Vets Whitehead Cup, writes Helen Chivers.

Mo’s impressive five under par round of 41 points saw her head the 90-strong field by two shots.

Reynolds topped Silver Division by two shots from Hilary Shiels and Sue Burley, who had to be separated on countback as they both scored three under par rounds of 39 points. Lisa Tinsley was two shots back in fourth place on one under par 37 points with Nina Hawkins fifth with her level par round of 36 points.

Teresa Tea recorded a three under par round of 39 points to take home the Whitehead Cup for 2018, as she claimed first place in Bronze Division. Alison Price was a shot back in second on two under par 38 points, with Lisa Humphries third on one under par 37 points. Lisa was followed closely by four ladies all on level par 36 points, with Carol Thomas narrowly taking fourth place on countback from Linda Holdway, Sue Owen-Pawson, and Julie Sampson.
