The Templer 10 is a multi-terrain race around the banks of the Teign near Kingsteignton, writes Dave Eveleigh.

Ten runners from Exmouth Harriers covered its (approximate) 10 mile distance last weekend.

Once again the female performances were outstanding, the club making a clean- sweep of the podium places for women.

Ellie Sutcliffe was 16th overall of over 200 in 61:34 and first woman of over 80 in the female category.

In 19th place overall and second woman was Cathy Newman (63:22) while Hannah Bown finished 25th overall (66:08) and third woman.

Hannah’s sister Emma White was 75th overall (72:36).

Then came a mixture of familiar and not-so-familiar names!

Jane MacDonald was 88th overall (74:54), Lisa Hatchard 93rd (76:00), Susan Hill 99th (77:15) and Dawn Teed 103rd (78:08) with Exmouth Belle Sue Rook completing the course in a respectable 89:20.

There were two male runners from Exmouth. Scott Jordan, now racing a little more than he had been able to for a while, finished 39th in 67:38 and super-veteran Mick Allen clocked 94:07 in 189th place.

A day earlier Lorraine Coombe was the sole Exmouth runner at the multi -terrain Yarcombe Yomp, also of about 10 miles, held in East Devon where she was 22nd of 48 runners and second female in 95:00.
