Archant

The Madeira Bowls Club AGM was held last week when officers both new and remaining were elected, writes Mike Pope.

During the meeting a special presentation was made to club general secretary John Smerdon who this year reached 60 years of service to bowling.

Not only has he served the sport so tremendously locally, but also in positions within England, County and International level.

We are lucky to have such an experienced secretary. Thank you John and congratulations.

The Presidents award, which those he considers have carried out ‘behind the scenes’ work went to Sharon Darton and Bill Smith for their work in the background producing an informative news sheet and keeping the club going with the necessary work required by way of printing and all such matters. Thank you both.
