EXMOUTH Swimming and Life Saving Society hosted the final round of this season's Speedo National League Division Two West programme. Bristol Central, Christchurch, Pontypool and Southwold were the other clubs that took part in the gala.
EXMOUTH Swimming and Life Saving Society hosted the final round of this season's Speedo National League Division Two West programme.Bristol Central, Christchurch, Pontypool and Southwold were the other clubs that took part in the gala, swum at the Riverside pool in Exeter.Southwold, from Gloucestershire, scored a surprise victory in the gala as they arrived as the lowest-ranked of the five clubs taking part. The final scores after the last relay race was over were: Southwold 166pts, Christchurch 152, Pontypool Dolphins 148, Exmouth 142 and Bristol Central 134.Overall, Exmouth finished 12th in the 18-club division, just two points away from the 11th-placed club.Dave Smith, the club coach, said: "We were close to achieving our best result for many years. Well done to all the swimmers, those who helped and to all the supporters."The team would like to thank Hookways Coaches, shirt suppliers Shack Ltd and Patisserie Express for their help during the season.
