THE last Exmouth Sea Angling Association’s club competition of 2010 was the Christmas Fayre contested on the River Exe with anglers targeting flounder.

Members chose mainly to fish the lower reaches of the Exe from Orcombe Point to Bull Hill with the majority of the flounders being caught in the Shelly Gut area.

In total six flounders were recorded with Shauna Hole catching two for 152% taking first prize of the Xmas Fayre Cup and Christmas Hamper.

Shauna’s best fish weighed 2lb 4oz caught on crab baits on a flowing trace.

Second was Andy Browning with two flounder for 149%.

Third was Mike Richards who also had two flounder for 116%.
