East Budleigh Reserves secured three deserved points in Division Four of the Joma Devon & Exeter League, as Dan Atkinson struck a brace of penalties to seal the win.
Budleigh began well with Atkinson and Bradley Hill going close and it was the latter who won Budleigh their first spot kick, converted by Atkinson on 14 minutes. Twelve minutes later, Atkinson scored his second penalty following a foul from a Tom Christian corner.
Despite the lead, Sidmouth were having their share of the game and were denied a goal back by an excellent challenge from Owen Corrick. The Jays continued to defend well after the break to confirm the win.
East Budleigh first-team were far strong for Halwill in Division One, winning 5-0 on the road with goals from Hugo Demetre and doubles from Jack Howarth and Rian Hill.
In the Devon Football League, Budleigh Salterton went down to a 4-0 defeat at title-chasing Exwick Villa.
