Withycombe Under-15s travelled to Caerphilly in Wales to compete for the Challenge Cup, generously sponsored by Edwards Diving Services Ltd of Caerphilly and Exeter.

The match was well contested and close throughout, but the Welsh side eventually took the honours with a 24-19 score line in their favour.

Withy travelled to Wales with a 40-strong tour party that included players, coaches and parents and the party was extremely well looked after by Caerphilly RFC hosts all day and well into the evening.

Post match socialising included a joint kangaroo court, horseracing, meal, disco – and a most hilarious coaches’ dance-off!

Withy players dressed in farmers fancy dress for the evening, and it was certainly everything that an U15s rugby tour should be!

Caerphilly will hopefully head for Exmouth for a return fixture and to enjoy some Withy hospitality.

The second day of tour saw the party engage in a two-hour team building assault course up in the Welsh hills! Great fun was had by one and all.
