Withycombe Under-15s were beaten 22-12 at the end of the hard-fought match against a well-drilled Teignmouth side.

Withy, playing with a bare 15, were under pressure from the first whistle and a dominant Teigns struck the first try of the game in the early exchanges.
Withy hit back with a try of their own, but a second for the Teigns gave them a 10-5 half-time lead.
If the first half went to the hosts, then the second half belonged to Withy, who began well and stayed on the front foot to move into a 12-10 lead.
The contest then became one of a battle of the middle field with neither side giving a quarter!

However, Teignmouth managed to finish slightly the stronger, scoring two late tries to take the match honours.
There’s clearly not much to separate these two sides, who provided a gritty match of hard tackling, rucking and counter rucking all conducted in an aggressive uncompromising style.
The Withy try scorers were Tom Real and Matt Hicks and Will Cooper slotted a conversion.
The Man of the Match awards for Withy went to Matt Edworthy for a usual unstinting shift upfront, and to Matt Oliver, playing in the backs at centre for a change where he made numerous probing runs.
