Withycombe Under-12s were on their travels again last Sunday playing against Plymstock for the first time and duly handed out a 55-0 drubbing against their hosts.

The disappointing performance the week before against Brixham was soon put to bed as the young Withies were quicker to the breakdown, sharper around the pitch and their rucking was exceptional. Plymstock are a good side, but the fifteen boys Withies took down the A38 just had too much aggression and savvy and really showed that when they play like they did today, not many teams around can compete with them. Harry Bennett terrifies opposing teams, and his six tries he scored today showed what a super athlete he is, and a key member of this Withies squad. Charlie Passmore was back to his dynamic best, and his hat trick was only dissected by scores from the hard work of Ollie Willis and the strong running of Joe Dale.

Jack Wood was involved in almost everything, and he will have the bruises to show from his endeavours on Monday. To keep a clean sheet against Plymstock was down to the excellent defence of Withies, with Harry Williams, Jack Draper, Ollie Hempstead and Paddy McGuinness all putting in big hits.

This was certainly a real team performance from Withies and the team will be hoping to continue the good work when they travel to Cullompton for their next game.

Paddy McGuinness, Max Wilkinson, Max Richards, Ollie Willis, Ollie Hempstead, Sam Skinner, Billy Worthington, Joe Dale, Callum Tose, Charlie Passmore, Harry Bennett, Danny Trios, Harry Williams, Jack Wood, Jack Draper
