Withycombe Under-12s were 42-7 winners when they visited Newton Abbot.
Withy hit the ground running from the start in this game. Slick hands from the set piece and breakdowns put the home side on their back foot as Withy took the game to them. A run from deep in the Withy half saw Tom Humphry gain good ground with Jayden Gore supporting well to take the ball on further before unloading to Scott Acheson for the first try of the game. A well worked team try. More Withy pressure then saw Max Rickard at Scrum Half dart over from good rucking near the Newton try line. The remainder of the first half saw Withy absorb determined Newton Abbot pressure to head into half-time with a 14-0 lead.
Early second half home persistence was quickly disbursed by a Matt Rye try from good rucking. Newton came back in to the game and were rewarded for their efforts with what would be their solitary try of the game. Withy fired back with three tries in succession from good work at the break down. First Jayden Gore stormed over then Max Rickards followed up with a similar try to his first half effort seeing the defensive gap from the base of a ruck close in, before Will Cooper scored with a kick and chase from deep, picking up good recycled ball to side step home just before the final whistle.
The Withy Man of the Match award was shared between the hard-working Jayden Gore and winger Liam Randall.
