Withycombe Under-11s turned out to play at Totnes on a glorious Sunday morning, writes Lee Randall.

Totnes were short of a few players so Withy sent over a few players on temporary loan.

The game kicked off with plenty of scrums and line-outs which eventually gave way to a first try from Totnes.

Despite spirited play from Withy they conceded a second try before half-time. The second half saw two more try’s from Totnes until Will Cornish battled to get the first score on the board for Withy which was successfully converted by Will Cooper.

Coopers trusty boot had come in handy on a few occasions during the match with some good clearance kicks and a few cheeky chips.

Withy managed one last try before the final whistle with Matt Edworthy finding the line with a successful conversion by Ben Wilkinson.

The Withy Man of the Match award went to Liam Randall for some exceptional tackling.

That award had been won two weeks previously by Matt Rye in the match against Exeter Chiefs in which the youngster served up some outstanding spirit in the tackles.
