Withycombe RFC junior section spent last weekend on tour in Cornwall.

Withy travelled to the Duchy with a party of 280 players, coaches and supporters and made their tour base at Newquay.

They took teams through the age groups from the youngest to the Under-16s and played matches against teams from St Agnes, Perranporth, St Austell and Newquay Hornets.

All involved were an absolute credit to the club, town and indeed county. They all played superbly well to come back to Devon victorious across all age groups.

Highlights of the tour, outside of the Saturday night fancy dress, included the Under-12s 70-0 win over Perranporth and the Under-11s handing Newquay their only defeat of the season, 11-0. The Under-10s had their best performance of the season whilst the Under-9ss recorded whitewash wins over St Agnes and St Austell. All this and the U8/7/6s all played and performed superbly well and came away exhausted after their efforts.

There are already plans being drawn up for the 2016 tour.
