Withy warm up for Devon Cup final with win over Bideford

Withycombe Under-14s finished their season of friendly rugby with a fine win over a strong Bideford team last Saturday.

Both teams contributed to an evenly fought-out affair on a sunny day in North Devon.

This was good preparation for their Devon Cup final which is to be played on Sunday (April 22), at Topsham’s Bonfire Field home, where the opposition will be the host club. Withycombe hope to make it a record season. They have won every fixture so far and one more win will see them being crowned Devon champions. Success comes from hard work, and the lads have worked tremendously hard this year. Off the pitch the coaching team would like to thank their sponsors, who have made them look the part on and off the field: EL Evans, Carpenter and Joiner, IC Skinner Ceramic Tiling Contractors, ‘That’s Clean’, ‘Smarti Environmental Products Limited’ and M & D Autocare.

Sunday’s cup final kicks off at 3pm and any support for the Withy lads will be gratefully received.
