Exmouth Under-10s recorded a superb 30-25 victory in a game against Exeter Chiefs.

The Cockles began brightly and excellent approach play involving Masters, Tew and Creswell led to a wide ball for Dawson who broke free prior to scoring in the corner.

Excellent work in the lineout from Vinny Neath-Rogers and Josh Langley, coupled with some brave running from Luke Davis, enabled the Cockles to keep up the pressure.

The Chiefs crafted an equaliser when they bagged an interception that resulted in a simple try and they added a second shortly after.

From the re-start Dawson made a powerful run through the Exeter defensive line to restore parity.

Back came the Chiefs and it was them who scored the next to take a slender 15-10 lead into the break.

The second half started with Exeter forcing a well worked try before Ford re-joined the game after recovering from his injury and passed out wide for Dawson to score to cut the Cockles deficit to five points at 15-20.

Ford then scored on the left side to even things up at 20-20 and the Cockles took the lead when after some tremendous defending,

Harry Sprague broke through to power his way up the pitch and score a great individual try.

The Chiefs quickly brought the score level after the restart, but with only moments to play, Dawson broke through to score his fourth of the match to seal a thrilling 30-25 victory.

Awards went to Thomas Preece for excellent tackling and Ben Dawson took the Man of the Match honour
