EXMOUTH Nomads were excellent value for a 23-0 win at Honiton 2nds on Saturday afternoon, writes Gerry Williams.

The die was cast for a good afternoon for the Nomads when winger Mike Symond ran in the first try but the Kevin Rodwell attempt at a conversion failed.

From the re-start the Nomads gathered the ball and, with the hosts caught off-side, Rodwell atoned for his earlier miss with the resultant penalty.

Nomads were now in charge of the contest with a Man of the Match performance from Tony Rowe and it was no surprise when a second try was added when Number 8, Russell Coombes, crashed over and a third try arrived five minutes before the break when a slick passing move, initiated by the backs, ended with Kevin Rodwell crossing for a deserved try.

Playing up the slope in the second half was more testing and there was just the one score with Nomads notching it through Nathan Budd.
