Exmouth under-14s registered their first victory of the campaign with a 12-10 win over Crediton.
In blustery conditions there was a frenetic, high-tempo, start to the game.
In an early sortie into Crediton territory Liam Hillier and Alfie Collinson combined to secure a 15-mtere out scrum.
The pack that included Jamie Davies, Drew Jobson, Josh Wickes and Caleb Sampson gave a strong platform for skipper Joe Harris to break off and cross the try line, taking a pair of Crediton defenders with him!
The Mid Devon side made a fine response and it needed some terrific tackling from full-back Keenan Paver to keep them at bay.
However the pressure eventually told and they levelled with a try out wide to send the teams into the break at 5-5.
Crediton struck first in the second half with an unconverted try.
Crediton looked to further their advantage but, with Alfie McIntosh, Sam Smith, Jake Williamson and Caleb Bills all demonstrating great handling and resolute defence, the Cockles stuck with it and, five minutes from time, produced a match winning move.
The bal found its way inside the Crediton twenty two yard line to number Harris who made a storming run for the try line.
Tackled just short, the ball was popped up and gathered by Jake Sharp to score under the posts. Fly-half George Mears slotted the conversion to seal a 12-10 victory.
