Withycombe Under-7s took a healthy squad of 16 to Exeter for their games with hosts Saracens.
In their opening game there was some strong defending and excellent tagging and two tries from Ebony Mardle saw Withy all square at 2-2 at half-time.
After the break the home side scored four tries to the two of Withy, scored by Baxter Williams and Jaydan Marles as Withy were edged out 6-4.
Changes were made to ensure play for all as Withy contested the second game.
Rather like they had encountered in the first game, some strange decisions seemed to go against the youngsters with three tries being chalked off as half-time was reached with the home side holding a 3-2 advantage.
After the break the superb attitude and spirit of the young Withy side came to the fore.
Scores from Ebony Mardle, Marles and Williams saw them take the lead but back came the hosts with two further tries and, with a couple of minutes remaining, the hosts looked set for another victory.
Then came the move of the match as Withy launched an attack from deep in their own territory with the ball being passed swiftly and clinically along the line.
Long was tagged just short of the line but quick thinking and a deft pass to Marles saw the latter go over. Marles struck again a minute later to deservedly tie the scores up at 7-7.
A feature of the second game was some outstanding tackling, particularly by Joe Gosling, Curtis Fraser and a try-saving stop from Kieran Long.
Jaydan Marles was named Player of the Match for a nap hand haul of tries and some non-stop support play.
