Gillard at the double as Withycombe Under-8s land double win over Exeter Saracens

Withycombe Under-8s were again in fine form as they won their two games with hosts Exeter Saracens.
First up they landed a 14-8 success with six different scorers. Harry Bennett once again led the individuals scoring honours with a five try haul whilst Charlie Passmore helped himself to another hat-trick.
The other scorers were Paddy McGuinness (2), Alfie Gillard (2), Erin Asselman and James Griffin. All square at the break it was the greater commitment and stamina of the Withy youngsters that saw them to success.
Erin Asselman put in a superb Man of the Match shift leading the defensive side of the contest as Withy worked together well to turnover Saracens and force errors.
The second game produced a 10-8 victory for Withy.
This was a tougher encounter for the youngsters and they had to dig deep before emerging with the win.
The hallmark of the success were the outstanding contributions in defence from Ollie Hempstead and Joe Farmer and strong running by Oliver Willis and Charlie Tyler.
One particular highlight was a passing sequence involving Sam Skinner and Paddy McGuinness. Harry Bennett (3), Charlie Passmore (3), Paddy McGuinness (2), Alfie Gillard and Sam Skinner scored the Withy tries.
