Withycombe Under-13s overcame a formidable Brixham to claim a deserved success.
The Withy forwards dominated proceedings providing quality ball which was well delivered by Harry Hawkins enabling Oscar Moyles to make several good yards with both strong jinking runs and excellent kicking from hand.
The scoring was opened after 10 minutes by Ben Howes withb the conversion slotted by Jake Yarwood.
The remainder of the first half was fought in the midfield are with Brixham pushing the Withy line on a couple of occasions only to be kept out by some strong defence, all the more impressive given the fact that Withy had a spell a player light with one of their number in the sin bin!
Withy increased the tempo after the break and three minutes in and strong scrummage enabled number eight Kyle Perry to pick and run two thirds of the pitch, evading several tackles on his way to the white wash to score under the posts and again Yarwood added the extras.
The next score came after some great territorial kicking that ended with a Withycombe scrum in the visitors 22.
The dominant tight five enabled Perry to pick again and trundle over out wide.
The final try of the game was scored in the closing stages when Jason Farrant crossed in the corner after some more excellent support play.
This weekend the Under-13s face Teignmouth.
