TODAY we launch a new feature in the Journal - The Cockles Diary, which is aimed at bringing all followers of Exmouth RFC up to speed with all things Cockles!

l Sunday, August 30 sees the staging of the Exeter 107.3fm Radio Fun Day 12.00 noon onwards. Proceeds from the day are going to help the Dream-A-Way Charity

l Friday, September 4, is the date for Junior rugby registration, this is an evening event, running from 6pm. The Cockles hold an annual open evening for current and new members to register to play Junior rugby. It also gives parents and players alike a chance to meet the coaching team of their respective age group for the coming season.

l Saturday, September 5 and the opening game of a new National Three SW League season, a trip to Barnstaple for a 3pm kick-off.

Back at headquarters the Exmouth Quins entertain Barnstaple RFC (2.30pm) this is always a competitive fixture in the Devon Merit table clash.

There is also a Colts' match at 2.15pm with the young Cockles taking on Barum.

l Saturday, September 12, the first National Three SW home game with the visit of Maidenhead for a game that kicks off at 2.30pm. Newly promoted Maidenhead will no doubt wish to establish an early win on the road to consolidate their National Three status.

On the same day there's Junior rugby as the Cockles Under-16s entertain Exeter Saracens.
